LIVE from India and Hawaii – an International Stony Brook Newsbreak Special

Students from the School of Journalism at Stony Brook University are taking special Journalism summer classes in Hawaii and India. The Hawaii class (RIS4E) is in partnership with NASA as they research how volcanic rock can help create machines for the surface of Mars. The class in Bangalore, India is a part of our Journalism Without Walls program where students do investigative and feature journalism in a foreign country. We catch up with both classes LIVE to our TV Studio so we can find out what they have been up to. Special guest, NASA Astronaut Rick Mastracchio, also gives insight to the research in Hawaii.

To see the work students are doing, go to for RIS4E – Hawaii and for Journalism Without Walls – Bangalore.
